Green Tea
Metabolism support
What it does
A gentle energy boost with antioxidants. Supports metabolic rate without the anxiety of coffee.
What the research says
Contains EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) and a modest amount of caffeine (25–35mg per cup vs ~95mg in coffee). Multiple meta-analyses support mild thermogenic effects and improved insulin sensitivity. Not a weight-loss cure — but a genuinely well-researched daily support tool.
How to brew
Ingredients
- ·1 tsp high-quality green tea leaves (or 1 bag)
- ·250ml water
- ·Optional: a slice of lemon
Steps
- 1
Heat water to 75–80°C (not boiling — boiling water makes green tea bitter).
- 2
If using loose leaf, measure 1 tsp per cup.
- 3
Steep for exactly 2–3 minutes. Set a timer.
- 4
Remove leaves or bag immediately. Over-steeping causes bitterness.
- 5
Drink as-is or with a small slice of lemon.
Best time to drink
Morning, with or after breakfast. Not in the evening — contains caffeine.
